Today's Tell Me Thursday subject is:
"Please tell me about the Greek gods and all the ruins/temples that are in Greece, that were made in their honor."
Well we find numerous Temples and Ancient Ruins in Greece that were dedicated to / made for the Greek Gods. Here are some I could find:
Temple of Olympian Zeus
This temple is in the center of the Greek capital Athens and was dedicated to Zeus.

The Heraion of Perachor
This ruin was a sanctuary of the goddess Hera situated in a small cove of the Corinthian gulf in Greece.
The Parthenon
This temple in Greece was dedicated to the Greek goddess Athena, who was the patron of Athens.
The Temple of Hephaestus
This temple that can also be found in Greece was dedicated to Hephaestus. He was the patron god of craftsmanship and metal working.
Cape Sounion
Cape Sounio in Greece is a site that has ruins of an ancient Greek temple of Poseidon. As I'm sure most of you know he was the god of the sea. There is also sea on three sides of this site and it is said to be amazing!
Delphi
The Temple of Afea
Aphaia was a Greek goddess who was worshiped only at this sanctuary.
Temple of Athena Nike, Athens
This temple was positioned so that the Athenian people could worship the goddess of victory, Athena.
Temple of Apollo Epicurius
"The temple's isolated location and unusual dedication (epikourios means "helper" or "protector") have kept scholars occupied for over 200 years. One explanation is that the villagers of nearby Figalos prayed to Apollo for protection from a plague and built the temple in gratitude for his assistance. Another theory is that Apollo was considered the protector of the Arcadians, especially mercenaries, who funded the temple." (source)
Portara
And that is all I could find. I am sure there are tons more though! If I find anymore I'll post them in a later post. I hope this answered your question.
Thanks for asking this question, without it I would never have known about all these great places!
Don't forget to send me more questions!
